How not to get a PAC code out of O2

  1. Ring O2.
  2. Select the option required.
  3. Stay on hold for one hour.
  4. Hang up because your lunch hour is over.
  5. Ring back later and select the option required.
  6. Stay on hold for 45 minutes.
  7. Answer security questions similar to that required to access Fort Knox.
  8. Explain that you wish to have your PAC code.
  9. Say that you do not wish to provide a reason.
  10. Be told that you have to provide a reason.
  11. Provide a reason.
  12. Be told that you are about to be transferred to the appropriate department.
  13. Think about asking why you have to be transferred when you selected the appropriate option to begin with.
  14. Stay on hold for 25 minutes.
  15. Answer security questions again.
  16. Get a security question ¬†wrong and be told that ‘you have one more chance’.
  17. Explain again that you wish to have your PAC code.
  18. Explain the reason again.
  19. Be told that you shouldn’t be frustrated at how long the process is taking.
  20. Be told that your PAC code will be texted to you after this phone call.
  21. Explain that you do not wish to hang up having not received the PAC code.
  22. Be told that they have no reason not to provide you with the PAC code.
  23. Explain that the experience of this phone call so far suggests otherwise.
  24. Be told again that you shouldn’t be frustrated at how long the process is taking.
  25. Reluctantly hang up and wait for text.
  26. Receive PAC code in text.
  27. Experience sense of relief that the whole experience is over.
  28. Notice that the PAC code message will self destruct in 10 seconds*

*This one did not happen but the rest did.
